GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this rare and highly
desirable, 1968 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Holiday Coupe for your
consideration. Finished in a bold Scarlet Red exterior over an
all-original Black interior, with factory bench seat. This 442 is
powered by its numbers-matching 400 cubic inch V8, mated to its
factory numbers matching TH400 automatic transmission (photos of
the engine block, head, transmission, and transmission tag showing
matching numbers can be found in our photos). This is a true W-30
optioned vehicle, which was an awesome upgrade on these 442s;
including the ram air system, high-lift camshaft, W30 cylinder
heads with larger valves and better flow, Rochester quadrajet 4bbl
carb with unique tuning for the W-30 setup, high-performance
distributor and ignition timing, red inner fender wells, heavy-duty
suspension components, performance dual exhaust with special
mufflers, forced air induction hood setup, unique W-30 badging, and
none of the W-30 cars had A/C.) Only about 1,518 W-30 cars were
built in 1968, making it a much more rare and collectible model
today. This example is equipped with a G80 anti-spin rear axle, A01
tinted glass, N47 power steering, and the rare automatic
transmission. Additional features include chrome front and rear
bumpers, a sport wood three-spoke steering wheel, and numerous
original owner's manuals. This car has been meticulously cared for
and was recently inspected and authenticated by Stephen Minorie, an
Oldsmobile and W-30 expert (photos of the report in the listing).

The 1968 Oldsmobile 442 W30 represented the peak of Oldsmobile's
muscle car performance and engineering within the GM lineup.
Originally introduced as an option package on the F-85 and Cutlass
models, the 442 became its own model line by 1968. With limited
production numbers and factory high-performance parts, the W30
variants remain among the most coveted by collectors today.
