📍 1975 Ford Courier – Original Paint, Rebuilt Engine, Rare Topper
Offered here is a 1975 Ford Courier with an incredible personal history and mechanical investment. This truck has been a meaningful part of my life, and it’s my hope that it finds a new home with someone who values its originality, character, and reliability.
🛠️ Ownership & History
I purchased this Courier in 2018 after moving to California from a gentleman whose father had owned it since new. The truck had been garage-kept its entire life and meticulously maintained. Aside from a custom grille and dash cover, it was remarkably original.
🔧 Mechanical Restoration & Modifications
In my first year of ownership, I replaced the U-joint and driveshaft to address a minor knocking sound. A few years later, during a drive up the Pacific Coast Highway, the timing chain failed—leading to a comprehensive rebuild. Here's what was done:
Full top-end rebuild, including:
New pistons
Rod and main bearings
Timing chain
Weber carburetor installed
Smog equipment removed (original equipment included with sale)
Rebuilt cylinder head
New alternator, battery, and ignition coil
Replaced tie rods, bushings, and steering linkage
New fuel pump
Aftermarket tachometer added
Since the rebuild, I’ve driven the truck fewer than 5,000 miles.
🧰 Spare Parts Included
This Courier comes with a valuable set of spares, including:
A lightly used transmission
Original carburetor
Original smog equipment
Brake drums and cylinders
Various miscellaneous parts from my time maintaining the truck
🛞 Mechanical Notes
The brakes could use adjustment, but the truck is fully drivable.
There’s approximately 30° of play in the steering wheel before it engages—still functional but worth addressing.
The passenger door latch occasionally sticks open, likely fixable with lubrication.
🎨 Exterior & Interior Details
Wears its original factory paint, aged gracefully with a few rust spots under the windshield (solid metal underneath for easy future repair).
Comes with an extremely rare original topper purchased for the truck in the 1970s—something I’ve never seen listed with another Courier.
Interior has a dash cover, with the original dash underneath.
📄 Mileage & Title
Odometer reads 76,353 miles—I believe it has rolled over once.
Clean California title in my name.
❤️ Why I’m Selling
Parting with this Courier is difficult. It’s drawn admiration and nostalgia from people everywhere—it seems everyone has a story about one. I'm only selling it to help fund the launch of my business, and I hope the next owner will appreciate it as much as I have. With originality, thoughtful upgrades, and rare accessories, this is a special truck ready for its next chapter.
