INTRODUCTION: What a dandy! Real 442, #'s matching big block, and
factory colors! Documented with it's original build sheet and
purchase agreement! Born with a 455 as indicated by the "U" in the
VIN. Over $16,000 in mechanical upgrades completed this year, with
receipts. We also have the original manuals, warranty booklet and
registration, showing the same owner until at least 1988. This one
is special, for all the right reasons!
EXTERIOR: Original factory colors! And it's got all the fun stuff
like the wing, scoops, and stripes. It's been repainted Matador Red
just like when it left the showroom floor. The paint was laid out
nice and even then polished to a glossy and reflective finish. The
white stripes were painted on correctly, really making things pop
and complimenting the interior perfectly. Looking down the side of
the beautifully straight body is satisfying with the voluptuous
body lines. All the panels are nicely aligned, and the doors close
easily with minimal effort. The Ram Air hood with locks looks so
tough, and the rear spoiler really enhances the profile. The dual
sport mirrors are a much appreciated option. The windshield has
been replaced and all the rubber seals are nice and soft. The rear
window has the built in defroster and looks to be original with a
few scratches. The bumpers have been nicely rechromed and the rear
has polished trumpet exhaust tips exiting below. The remaining
brightwork all fits well and also has a lustrous shine. The emblems
look nice and fresh too. The correct 442 front grille and headlight
bezels are both in great shape. Everything is rolling on a set of
sharp looking Super Sport II wheels that are wrapped in BFGoodrich
Radial T/A tires.
INTERIOR: Factory white interior! The door jambs were repainted and
are clean metal all the way down to the bottom. The weatherstrips
were also replaced. The door panels look like new with shiny chrome
on the handles too. The dash area is looking good with a
refurbished gauge bezel and the full set of rally gauges including
the Tic Toc Tachometer. The climate control unit looks great and
includes the rear defrogger switch. It does have the factory am/fm
stereo and 8 track player as well. The kickpanels are in great
shape and it has "442" floor mats sitting on top of new carpeting.
The center console is in great condition and has the Hurst Dual
Gate shifter with an aftermarket ball. The locking armrest with
storage compartment is a very nice feature. The seats have all been
reupholstered with matching white vinyl and are in fantastic shape.
It is also equipped with original looking seatbelts front and back.
The headliner and sun visors were replaced and the dome light is
working. It also has the sport steering wheel that rounds off the
nice long list of options.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: #'s matching original engine! The 455 has been
totally rebuilt and runs strong. Internal upgrades were made
including bored cylinders, new camshaft by Comp Cams with .544/.296
lift, and 10.5:1 compression pistons. A vacuum pump was installed
because of the larger cam. It also has a HPC coated intake, new
Holley Sniper fuel injection, recent plugs/wires/distributor cap,
recurved distributor, Pertronix ignition, and a high output coil.
The front of the motor has a billet pulley kit, with a chrome
Powermaster 150 amp 1 wire alternator. The factory air conditioning
system is still in place. The entire fuel system was redone to work
with the fuel injection and includes lots of stainless braided
lines. The wipers and horn are hooked up plus it also has power
steering and power brakes.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid has been repainted and it
has the reproduction jack stickers too. The jamb is nice and clean
with a new weatherstrip. Inside is clean, solid steel covered with
neatly applied spatter finish paint and no patchwork noted.
UNDERSIDE: Upgraded suspension with BMR tubular control arms and
QA1 coilover adjustable gas shocks. In back it has upgraded upper
and lower control arms, adjustable gas shocks and a swaybar. The
steering box was just replaced. Upgraded fuel system compatible
with the fuel injection. It has a clean factory style exhaust with
trumpet tips going through the bumper. The brake system is in great
shape, disc in front and the e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking
up at the #'s matching motor it looks fresh and has a new high
torque starter. The original #'s matching Turbo 400 automatic trans
also looks fresh. In back is the correct rear end with upgraded
3.73 posi gears. The floors appear to be very solid and are nicely
painted black.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to work it. This is so we can sell you
the best cars within reason.
CONCLUSION: No disappointments here! Just a rare and genuine 442
with all the fixings plus it has recently been serviced with over
$16,000 worth of parts and labor. Documented, numbers matching,
factory colors, 455 big block, I have nothing else to say, cars
this impressive literally sell themselves.
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
