cluster anchors the dash, while new black carpets and fresh seals
dial back the years. A center console frames the manual shifter and
gives everything a factory-correct feel. You'll also find an AM/FM
stereo tucked into the dash, and the cabin benefits from good
airflow with the top down-or seal it up with the newer vinyl roof
and plastic rear window.
The 1600cc inline-4 is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and
breathes through dual SU carburetors. It's been given plenty of
attention with a ceramic-coated header, gear reduction starter, new
gaskets, hoses, thermostat, fuel pump, and even a GM single-wire
alternator. A rebuilt clutch and throwout bearing transfer power,
while fresh transmission and pinion seals help keep things dry. Up
front, stainless-relined brake calipers with new pads grip disc
brakes, and out back it's all rebuilt too-wheel cylinders, shoes,
lines, and master cylinder. Suspension rides on coils up front and
leafs in the rear, all tied together with new shocks and
bearings.
