Description:
This 1957 Chevrolet 150 two-door sedan was modified circa 2007 and
is powered by a 572ci GM Performance Parts crate V8 linked with a
Richmond five-speed manual transmission and a Currie locking rear
axle. The car rides on an Art Morrison frame with adjustable
coilovers, rack-and-pinion steering, tubular control arms, and sway
bars front and rear, and the 17? Intro wheels are mounted over
four-wheel disc brakes. Vivid Red Fire paint covers the body and
the cabin has been upholstered in tan leather and fabric.
Interior:
The billet steering wheel wears a tan leather wrap and sits on a
tilting column ahead of a satin red-finished dashboard pad.
Instrumentation includes a factory-style 120-mph speedometer as
well as a Mooneyes console-mounted tachometer and readouts for oil
pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, voltage, and vacuum. The
front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in tan leather
that extends to the custom door panels and center console.
Exterior:
The car was repainted in "Vivid Red Fire" with custom gold
pinstriping on the trunk lid and simulated front fender vents, and
the selling dealer tells us bodywork was performed prior to the
repaint. The body is mounted to an Art Morrison frame, and styling
elements include a flush-mounted power antenna, tailfins, chrome
and stainless-steel trim, twin wind splits, and hooded headlights.
Five-spoke Intro 17? wheels are mounted with Yokohama AdvanST tires
measuring 225/55 up front and 275/55 out back. The car is equipped
with Wilwood Pro spindles up front, and braking is handled by
four-wheel discs with polished calipers, drilled rotors, and
stainless-steel hoses.
Drivetrain:
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Richmond five-speed
manual transmission with a dual-friction clutch kit, a
scatter-shield bellhousing, and a replacement throwout bearing. The
572ci GM Performance Parts tall-deck big-block crate V8 was
installed in 2008, and the engine bay and firewall were tucked and
customized during the build. The engine is equipped with a
high-rise intake manifold, a serpentine accessory drive setup, and
a custom air cleaner with flame pinstriping.
