INTRODUCTION: This is a good looking vintage truck with all the
modern upgrades. It has been frame off restored and only 4,000
careful miles since. Ready for show and go!
EXTERIOR: This 57 Chevy is looking good with its classic lines and
aggressive stance! It's an all metal body and fenders that's been
restored. It's clean and straight with no rust or damage. The white
paint is polished smooth and glossy. The fiery red metallic around
the cab sets it off real nice along with some old school hand
pinstripe. All of the chrome and trim has been replaced. The
original style tail lights have blue dots and there's also
taillights incorporated into the lower bed. All new smoked glass
and all the weatherstrips were replaced. It's riding on 15 inch
steel rims painted fiery red and are wrapped in Michelin tires,
extra wide and fat in the back!
INTERIOR: The inside of the cab was gutted, prepped and painted two
tone red and white. The floor was lined with Fat Mat sound
deadener. The wiring system was completely upgraded with an
American Auto Wire harness and fuse block. The custom made door
panels, headliner and visors are genuine leather upholstery. The
seat also has matching leather and features an armrest with cup
holders. The carpet and mats were custom cut and have leather bound
edges. All the knobs and handles were replaced. Those aren't window
cranks, they are actually power window switches in disguise! In
front of you is a beautiful gauge cluster with a tachometer, only
4,029 miles showing since this truck was built. A smaller version
of a vintage wheel is on a polished Ididit tilt column. It has a
retro Bluetooth stereo that fits the factory hole and there are
kick panel speakers along with 6x9s behind the seat. In the
glovebox is a Sirius Satellite device and Sniper digital
screen.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The heartbeat of this Chevy is a rebuilt 350
motor with an air gap aluminum intake, Sniper Electronic Fuel
Injection, MSD Street Fire ignition and ramhorn exhaust manifolds.
It's dressed up real nicely in finned valve covers and air cleaner,
and the motor is painted the same red as the roof. It has a Vintage
Air heat and a/c system, modern power steering system and a modern
one wire alternator. The polished aluminum radiator with a custom
shroud and a clutch fan keeps it running cool. The engine bay is
clean metal painted with a highly durable white chip guard
paint.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The walls of the bed are sprayed in a color
matched, very durable chip guard paint. The floor has finished wood
with stainless hardware.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for restoration. The chassis
is all painted semi gloss black. The metal floors are clean and
painted gloss white. Upfront it has a TCI independent suspension
with custom cross member, tubular control arms, RideTech coilover
adjustable gas shocks, swaybar, rack & pinion steering. In back it
has a TCI leaf spring kit and new shocks. Custom bent and welded
dual exhaust with crossover pipe and glass pack style mufflers
sounds great. The brake system was replaced and upgraded with disc
in front and a power booster and master. A custom aluminum fuel
tank is relocated under the truck. Looking up at the motor, it's
clean and painted red. The trans was upgraded with a 700R4
overdrive automatic. A custom driveshaft leads back to a rebuilt 9
inch rear end with 3.50 gears.
CONCLUSION: This truck really retains so much of its vintage charm
even though it's upgraded with so many modern features. You will be
looking for excuses to go for a drive, I see a lot of ice cream in
your future!
