Vehicle Description
-Mendip Blue with Magnolia leather interior and Blue carpeting,
Showing just over 3,000 miles with true mileage unknown, just
definitely less than 10,000 miles in our estimation based on
condition, 4-speed automatic transmission with both Sport and
Touring modes, 5.3 liter V8 32 valve producing 349 HP.330bhp,
Collector owned, Extremely rare in the United States given Aston
Martin Lagonda's not homologating them for the U.S. market.
Following the ending of Virage coupe production in 1994, the
company only offered two V8 models, the supercharged V550 Vantage
and Volante. This new V8 Coupe was introduced at the 1996 Geneva
Motor Show. At a casual glance, the car looks just like a
supercharged Vantage, although still with a good amount of
horsepower for touring pleasure, the newly introduced V8 Coupe was
considered a bit tamer and more gentlemanly given the lack of twin
superchargers. The car features Vantage style front and rear
styling, together with a chrome mesh grill and surround plus a less
overt front air dam incorporating two round driving lamps. The V8
Coupe is both subtle and elegant, but still with its 32 valve 5.3
liter V8 engine. Producing 349 bhp and 369 lb ft of torque, the V8
Coupe claimed maximum speed of 'over' 155mph with acceleration 0-60
mph in a mere 5.9 seconds. A four-speed automatic transmission was
fitted as standard, none of the V8 Coupes were fitted with a manual
gearbox, although some cars have had one retrofitted. These V8
Coupes were fitted with six spoke OZ Saturn alloy wheels and shod
with Pirelli P Zero 255/50 tires.
Some of the V8 Coupes amenities included: Full Connolly leather
interior, Burr walnut veneer facia, console and door trims,
Optional elm and maple veneers, Alcantara headlining, Leather
trimmed Wilton carpets, Lambswool floor rugs at additional cost,
Electrically operated and heated front Recaro seats, CFC free
automatic climate control system with replaceable pollen filters,
Leather steering wheel with driver airbag, Alpine radio cassette or
radio CD 4 speaker audio system, Optional boot mounted 6 disc
Alpine CD autochanger, Remote alarm system, Engine immobilizer and
Heated front and rear screens
This recently serviced V8 Coupe is a very good example. Having been
in long term storage, it was purchased several years ago a Texas
based Aston collector in the UK. Although RHD, it was then imported
to the United States, used and exercised sparingly since.
This is an opportunity to purchase a rare V8 Coupe with low mileage
from new and which was the end of of truly bespoke hand-built Aston
Martin Newport Pagnell coach-built era.
