This stunning 1969 Camaro was restored as a tribute to the
extremely rare 1969 COPO 9561 Camaros built by Chevrolet with the
iron block L72 427. The L72 was essentially the same engine as the
legendary 435HP Tri-Power 427, but with a single 4-barrel
carburetor, and rated at 425HP. There were an estimated 1,015 COPO
9561 Camaros produced. They were sold new through a limited number
of Chevrolet dealerships known to cater to the high-performance
market.
This particular tribute ups the ante with a 1969 iron block 427
featuring aluminum heads to spec as the famous L89 427 option. In
addition, is has been upgraded with an MSD ignition system, a
bigger cam, and ceramic-coated headers paired with a 3" exhaust
pipe system. It has significantly more power than a stock L72,
making this car an incredible sleeper.
