Burnt Orange Metallic paint lays the foundation for this 1948
Chevrolet Stylemaster Coupe, a street rod with custom bodywork
that's all about presence. The molded front fenders flow seamlessly
into a custom front bumper, while the shaved door handles and
frenched headlights, taillights, and license plate give it a clean
look. A V-butt windshield and deleted rear bumper complete the
exterior transformation. It sits low and wide on 17" American
Racing wheels wrapped in 255/40ZR17 front and 255/45ZR17 rear tires
from Lionhart.
Tan leather bucket seats bring a modern feel to the interior of
this classic coupe. A center console splits the front seats, while
power adjustments make for an easy fit. The dash features a wood
overlay packed with VDO gauges, and the tilt column is topped with
a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Power windows, a column shifter,
Vintage Air A/C, and a JVC CD stereo with Bluetooth and satellite
capability round out the comfort and convenience side, while tan
carpets and headliner finish the interior with consistent
tones.
A 350 cubic inch V8 sends power through a TH350 3-speed automatic
transmission and out to a GM 10-bolt rear. A Holley 4-barrel carb
sits atop an aluminum intake, fed by HEI ignition and pushing
through shorty ceramic-coated headers and FlowMaster dual exhaust.
A Mustang II-style front suspension with coil springs, shocks, and
sway bar provides steering through a rack-and-pinion setup. Power
front disc brakes and rear drums handle stopping duty. A 12V
Odyssey battery and negative terminal disconnect round out the
engine bay setup.
