When was the last time you saw an Opel on the road, much less a GT? Seeing one isn’t even the most interesting thing: the Opel GT was produced in two generations…with a 34 year hiatus in between.
The Opel GT, known as the "Mini-Vette" is slightly over four feet tall and as sporty as can be. The road hugging design makes this car super fun to drive. This car is small and built close to the ground which allows for excellent handling qualities. The Opel GT sports pop up headlights, roll bar protection and an energy absorbing body design. The Buick Opel GT was built by General Motors in West Germany.

THE CAR BEING OFFERED is a spectacular example of a Beautiful Rebuild. Although the odometer reads a little over 70,000, this is not true. My brother (of whom I inherited this vehicle from) had an Opel motor rebuilt and placed into this vehicle. He drove it less that 5,000 miles since this rebuild. This vehicle has a 1.9 liter 4 speed manual transmission (also rebuilt and bored to 2.0), new interior (except for seats - which are newer, but not new), new battery, tires, brakes, wheels and more. My brother rebuilt this car from bumper to bumper. This car has a beautiful new red paint job as well. The only blemishes on this car are 1 small chip on the windshield, 1 ding on the left rear panel where something fell from a shelf in his garage and a tiny ding on the front chrome bumper. I have all of the receipts for the parts of the rebuild. I also have miscellaneous extra parts (including original motor, gaskets, chrome tail pipes, etc.) This car also has a wonderful historical record from the original owner (including original bill of sale, a photo of original owner, manufacturer's suggested retail price sheet, maintenance records and a newspaper article about the Opel GT). These items will go with the car, as well as a dust cover. This is likely one of the nicest 1969 Opel GT cars available in the U.S.
Check out the video, but be advised the noise in the background is a neighbor using a chainsaw.
