Vehicle Description
-This 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 spent time in California and
Arizona before the most recent owner's acquisition in 2009. It was
subsequently modified with a 2? lift kit, an Old Man Emu steering
stabilizer, 16? Braid wheels, Sylvania headlights, a roof rack, and
a Blaupunkt stereo linked to aftermarket speakers. The truck is
finished in brown over tan and brown upholstery and is powered by a
4.2-liter 2F inline-six linked with a four-speed manual
transmission and a two-speed transfer case.
The truck left the factory finished in Copper Metallic (474) and
was repainted under previous ownership. Details include chrome
bumpers with black end caps, 4Runner-specification wiper arms, a
receiver hitch, mud flaps, and a split tailgate. Gray-finished 16?
Braid wheels are mounted with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, and
a removed set of wheels will accompany the truck. Braking is
handled by front discs and rear drums, and the truck is equipped
with locking front hubs.
The front bucket seats and a folding rear bench are upholstered in
patterned tan cloth with brown vinyl sides. Equipment includes air
conditioning, a center console, a rear window defroster and the air
conditioning system has been converted to utilize R134a
refrigerant, and the driver's seat was reupholstered in June 2011.
The steering wheel wears an aftermarket leather wrap and frames an
85-mph speedometer, a 4,500-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant
temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level.
The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six is equipped with a single carburetor
and was factory rated at 135 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. An
aftermarket radiator has been fitted. A rebuilt smog pump was
installed in September 2020, and a February 2024 the battery. An
oil change was performed in July 2024.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a
four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. A
Man-A-Fre transmission/transfer case oil bypass kit is said to have
been added. The muffler was replaced in 2020. The front axle seals
and an axle are noted to have been replaced in 2021, and a coating
was applied to the underside at that time.
