Factory S1 black horizontal sport stripes accentuate the aggressive
lines of this 1968 Plymouth GTX 440. Dressed in Matador Red, this
American muscle car exemplifies the golden age of performance. The
sleek profile is complemented by 15" Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in
255/60/R15 tires. The dual exhaust exits cleanly through the rear
valance, while the front grille and trim elements add the right
amount of flash to this formidable Mopar machine.
Inside the cabin, white vinyl bucket seats with red accents create
a striking interior aesthetic that's both sporty and
period-correct. This GTX features the rare buddy center seat
option, allowing for three-across seating when needed. The floor
shifter sits ready for gear changes while the factory AM radio
provides entertainment. White door panels and a matching headliner
maintain the clean interior theme, while power steering ensures
easy maneuverability. All gauges remain clearly visible in the
driver-focused dash layout.
The 440 Super Commando V8 engine produces 375 horsepower and was
built with meticulous attention to detail. Blueprinted in the
1990s, this numbers-matching powerplant received a roller timing
chain, factory cam and tappet replacement, valve springs, oil pump,
head bolts, and a complete gasket set. The single 4-barrel
carburetor feeds the mighty V8, while the numbers-matching A833
4-speed manual transmission puts the power to the Dana 60 rear end
with factory 3.54 gears. Four-wheel power brakes with front discs
provide stopping power.
