When it debuted in the early '60s, it sent shockwaves through the
automotive world combining breathtaking design, cutting-edge
engineering, and astonishing performance, all wrapped in a package
that was far more affordable than its Italian rivals. Designed by
aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer and blessed with a long, sculpted
hood, covered headlamps, and a low-slung profile, the '63 XKE
looked like it was doing 100 mph while standing still. It wasn't
just a car, it was a rolling sculpture, and Enzo Ferrari famously
called it "the most beautiful car ever made."
Pleased to bring this driver quality 1963 Jaguar E-Type to market
with just over 44k miles. There is a huge range of E-Type cars on
the market, from basket case cars to the concourse quality show
pieces that are truly trailer queens. Offered here is a great
driver with great lines, above average paint and a very original
interior and engine bay. This Jaguar still has the original factory
gauges, original 3.8L straight 6 cyl that was rated at 265HP. The
coupe version is a sexy example and the aircraft inspired interior
scream the 60's.
This vehicle retains the original AM radio (inop), wire wheels,
spare tire under trunk, redline tires, and wood trim steering
wheel. During our test drive the speedo, odometer, tachometer,
headlights, taillights, turn signals and horn were all working
properly. Even the original Jaguar leather pouch that the owners
manuals were stored in comes with this car.
You can drive and enjoy this Jaguar for years to come or take it to
a whole other level if you choose, but it is a solid setup with
good structure and would still garnish many thumbs up as you take
it out for a cruise.
