Is it a car? Is it a truck? It's an El Camino! These coupe utility
vehicles were produced by Chevrolet from 1959-1960 and then again
from 1964-1987. It was designed in response to the success of the
Ford Ranchero and was based on the Chevelle platform. With these
cars you get the style of an iconic muscle car with the usefulness
that comes from having a pickup truck. This nice 1965 has belonged
to the current owner for 3 years and has no history of accidents.
The body is all rust free and painted in a nice bright Red paint.
The bed is in good shape and has a nice tonneau bed cover in place.
The original style chrome bumpers are in great shape and have a
nice shine. It wears all of its original style trim as well which
is all straight. The glass is in good condition throughout and is
slightly tinted. It has a great stance and rides on a set of highly
polished out custom 5 spoke wheels with new tires.
This Elky is powered by a smooth running 350ci V8 that is fitted
with a new Holley 4 barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer EPS
intake, finned Edelbrock valve covers, and a chrome alternator.
That is then paired with a 4 speed manual transmission that
transfers power back to the 10 bolt rear end. The AC system in it
is all new and it blows nice and cold. It also has power brakes and
power steering making it a very comfortable driver. The suspension
system has all been gone through and it has new shocks throughout
with air bags in the rear. It cruises down the highway well taching
around 3,000 rpm at 70mph. While you're out and about if someone
gets in your way the custom train air horn is sure to get their
attention and utilizes the air tank mounted in the bed.
The interior is in good shape and it has a comfortable bench seat.
It features Black upholstery with Gray cloth inserts. The dash is
pretty much all stock so to avoid cutting it up the AC vents are
mounted underneath as is the aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM/CD/Aux
stereo. In front of the driver sits a stock style 3 spoke wheel
with bowtie horn button and an added tachometer. Additional gauges
have also been mounted under the dash.
This is a great driving El Camino that also shows well. The
odometer shows 43,005 miles and it is ready to go!
This cool classic could be yours for $36,500.00!
