Body off frame, rotisserie restored! #s matching, factory colors
and documented with Sloan papers. Only 1,014 GS 445 convertibles
were made total, this one is loaded with options making it even
more rare and more desirable!
EXTERIOR: The body was taken down to a bare shell and put on a
rotisserie to be made new from every angel. It is laser straight,
no damage, bubbles or body work showing at all. The panels fit
square and flush, doors shut like new. Repainted its original
color, Gulfstream Blue, it looks better than factory! The metallic
is laid out evenly and the clear coat is polished like glass. The
shine is so deep it looks like you could reach your arm right into
it. The grille, headlight bezels, wheel well moldings and marker
lights are NOS. Triple plated show chrome bumpers, the stainless
trim was polished. The weatherstrips were all replaced, windshield
was replaced. The white power top is in excellent shape and fits
real good to the windows. It sits real pretty on 15x7 chrome GS
wheels and the BFG tires are less than 2 years old.
INTERIOR: Born a pearl white interior, not only is it beautiful but
it stays much cooler than black. It is loaded with options and was
restored to original. The upholstery, door panels, carpet was all
replaced. The dash pad is mint, instrument panel is very nice with
fresh wood grain. It has optional gauges, speed minder and clock.
It also has a deluxe wheel on a tilt column. A retro stereo fits in
the factory hole, there's an auxiliary plug in the console. Yes, it
has a console in between the bucket seats, a lot of Buicks had
bench seats. The driver seat is even power along with the windows
and locks.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is restored to look like factory new!
Features include factory cold air conditioning power steering and
power brakes. At the heart of it is the original, numbers matching
ram air 455! It's all stock: manifolds, valve covers, ram air
assembly, brackets, pulleys etc. Every component looks fresh and
proper: the brake booster and hood latch are cadmium plated, the
washers are hooked up, it has spring clamp battery cables and the
original overflow bottle is in place. All the metal surfaces are
painted very nicely.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted as
slick as the car. Inside is rust free metal spatter painted from a
gun to duplicate the original. It has reproduction weatherstrip,
trunk mat, tire cover and sticker. It features a trunk light and a
power trunk release. Complete with a jack and spare assembly.
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the chassis and flipped on a
rotisserie! The underbody has pristine metal floors, braces and
rockers. It was all very neatly painted semi gloss black. The
entire chassis was taken apart, prepped and painted black. It has
the F-41 suspension which includes front and rear sway bars, rear
boxed control arms. All of the steering and suspension was
completely rebuilt. The brake system was completely rebuilt and has
disc in front, e-brake assembly was replaced. The fuel system was
completely replaced including the tank. The brake and fuel lines
were replaced with stainless. It has a full factory correct dual
exhaust system. Looking up at the motor it is still fresh looking.
It has its VIN number matching Turbo 400 automatic. The rebuilt
drive shaft leads back to its 10 bolt posi rear end. It is still
detailed under this car
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to work it. This is so we can sell you
the best cars within reason.
We acquired this car from a long time customer, friend and car
collector. He has owned a successful body shop for decades. He did
this restoration for himself 19 years ago, it looks like it was
just done! That's because it was done right and pampered since.
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
