Please read every line of this description before you do anything. Only those who are fully vested need respond. Simply, if you don't have the money and are not ready to turn it loose please do not call. We are very short on time. This is a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XL equip with the 8V 427 engine. This is NOT a "R" code car but was a 390 4 speed car which I still have the original engine. This is a one of a kind car still wearing most of it's original Rangoon Red paint and original interior except the floor and door panel carpet, arm rest pads and a NOS correct red XL steering wheel which is virtually priceless and the padded dash still looks new. The 427 only Pyrex headlight covers are perfect and NOS chrome bezels. I am the 2nd owner of this 60 year old car having owned it 30 years as the first owner. It is an immaculate car with NO rust, never wrecked or sat outside. If you look at the original side view mirrors the red & blue color are as bright as new. If this car had sat out any, these colors would be faded. All the chrome & stainless steel trim are x-lent. The pictures you see cannot accurately portray the condition of this car. It was udercoated at the dealer. Car is located in W. NC, a dry southern car (I live 15 miles from original owner) never in the snow. When I purchased this car it was bone stock ( I still have the XL hubcaps & wheels )and I made it as it is today. The only reason for selling is I am blind now and can no longer drive.
Now about the engine. It is a C6AE casting an industrial block that was cast as a side oiler but machined as a top oiler. When I bought this engine I threw everything except the block, crank and heads. The block was punched out .020, the minimum and Keith Black pistons mounted on Lemans rods were installed. Every piston & rod was balanced and custom fitted to each cylinder with 1/2 to .001 clearence on each hole. This industrial block that can be bored to .060 if needed as opposed to a max of .030 on a normal block. The crank & rods were turned .010 and the crank balanced. I had Sig Erson to grind me a custom .586 lift cam& I had Crane to custom make the pushrods. I found a very nice 427 only harmonic balancer. The heads are low rised fitted with SS medium riser valves ( 2.19 and 1.75) with a 3 angle valve job. 2 new Holley 600 CFM carbs mounted on a Ford medium riser intake were installed along with medium riser rocker arm stands covered with pent roof chrome valve covers. The 427 cast iron headers were blasted and ceramic coated in and out and then painted with VHT cast iron gray paint. A custom 2.5" exhaust was fabbed and Flowmaster 3 chamber muffs were installed. Many original 427 parts were used such as the fuel pump, fuel filter cannister, etc. This engine is cooled with a custom built 4 row radiator along with a NOS metal fan shroud and closed up with new rubber flaps on the shroud and a 6 blade flex fan keeps it nicely cooled. The engine was built around 2000 and only has about 2K miles on it. I dare to say it's probably not even broke in good yet, The drivetrain consist of a Schafer HD clutch & stiff pressure plate connected to a brand new 9" 3.89 Detroit Locker ia a Ford "H" case all built by a Nascar builder and has the larger 31 spline axles.
I don't have the time to list all the things about this car but I can say in 30 years no one that has seen this car could not believe the body and interior were original. You could not build this car for even twice the price if you started with a perfect rust free body like this. Again, people without the money. need not call. Only serious, serious people need call. We are not trying to be butt holes, we are just trying to weed out the tire kickers. CASH ONLY NO TRADES!!!
