- Car comes with 1953 Buick wire wheels that completes the look of Sam Hollingsworth’s original Nomad (to be shipped at buyer’s expense). Pictures of the car on these wheels are at the end of the photo gallery
This rolling piece of artwork is a replica of the iconic Sam Hollingsworth Nomad that was the cover car for the May 1967 edition of Rod & Custom magazine (see magazine cover in photo gallery below). That original car was so popular that Revell made a 1/25 scale model kit for the car. This car is one of two replicas known to exist. The original car was restored back to stock and moved to Canada. I do not know the current status of the other replica.
Personally, cars with flames on them do nothing for us here at Callaway Classics, but this car just called to us and is not your typically custom paint job. There’s just something about the color combination, the shape of the Nomad, the subtle blending of the flames’ color tones, the chrome and color accents, the evident craftsmanship and attention to detail in the paintwork when you view it in person…it all just works for this car. You could not apply the same paint job to another body style and have it work this well. Besides the phenomenal paintjob, it’s also a two door wagon, which is just plain cool in its own right. Words and pictures cannot convey how spectacular of paint job this car wears and how much experience, time, and finesse went into creating such a masterpiece on wheels.
If you have any particular questions about the car, feel free to call or message. Thanks for looking!
