This week Canyon State Classics brings to market a 1969 Chevrolet
Corvette Sting Ray roadster in custom two-tone paint over factory
bright blue vinyl. This numbers matching 427ci 435hp Tri-Power car
was originally delivered in code 972 can am white over blue
interior and was subsequently repainted with custom colors and
accents. The car retains it's original 427ci V8 with all main parts
having the correct casting numbers (Block Casting# 3935439 Heads#
3919840 Intake# 3937797, 4-Spd M21 Muncie transmission and original
Tri-Power carbs. This example has been gone through mechanically
and is ready for its new owner to start enjoying the way it is or
restore back to original specification. Either way, numbers
matching big block cars are getting harder to find outside of
collections and museums. Don't miss out on your chance at this car
priced well under all like-spec'd comps!
The following is a list of factory equipment and features:
-427ci 435 HP Big Block V8 (#'s match) -4spd M21 Muncie Manual
Transmission -Tri Power Carbs -Power Brakes -Rare Hard Top -Western
Wheel Turbines wrapped in BFGoodrich Radials -Bucket Seats w/
Console -Dual Exhaust -Original Interior -FM Radio The exterior on
the car was refinished by its original owner sometime in the late
80's. The factory can-am white paint was replaced by a two-tone
blue and purple custom job featuring hot pink accents. Overall the
coating on the car is in decent shape for the age however chips,
cracking and assorted imperfections can be seen around the car in
the photos. This car has just over 98k miles and was continually
used throughout its life. The current coating makes this car a
stand out at any meet or lends itself to being a strong candidate
for cosmetic restoration. The appearance of the car is accentuated
by a set of western wheel turbines wrapped in BFG radials and
adorned with knock-off caps. This vette also comes with a factory
hardtop!
The interior is finished in its original color of blue and shows
very well considering the age and miles. This interior appears to
me to be all original with exception to a replacement dash pad and
a pillar panels. The seats have no tares and few ware spots. Both
door panels, console, dash and carpet are very good condition. The
black steering wheel is complimented by a corvette center button
and frames a 160mph speedometer and tach. All gauges, switches are
functional. The radio also works great! I do strongly believe this
is a true 98k mile car judging by existing interior and exterior
components.
Mechanically, this little Stingray runs great. The 427ci V8 is a
very fast motor and this Vette FLYS! The engine fires right up and
has benefitted from a recent carb overhaul. The 4 speed manual goes
into all gears without issue and the clutch engagement is
confident. The engine compartment was cleaned and reconditioned
with attention to detail. This car needs nothing and is ready to
cruise on a sunny day or hot summer night.
All in all, this is one very clean and well done '66 Corvette. Take
a look at the price range many of these 427ci 435hp Sting Rays are
selling mid $70K range. This is everything that those cars are
without the huge price tag. This car is a great example of a solid
driver and or potential for restoration. Corvettes are one of the
most coveted and widely collected vehicles on the market today, and
with this Stingray you can't go wrong. Please email or call with
any questions and we can help with shipping quotes and
arrangements. We also welcome International buyers. Any further
questions please call Jon at 480-703-2337. The car is located in
Sunny Mesa, AZ!
