Vehicle Overview
Up for sale is my 1960 Ford Starliner 2-door hardtop, an increasingly rare full-size Ford with sweeping lines and unique Starliner-only roof. This is a true one-family survivor that spent nearly 60 years with the original owner's family before I purchased it in 2020.
The car was originally sold new in Harvey, Illinois on June 20th,1960 and comes with great original paperwork, including:
• Copy of the original Illinois title
• Copy of the original dealer sales invoice
• Original dealership photo in Harvey, Illinois Circa. 1960
• Vintage shop manual, spec. sheets, and brochures
*** Names & addresses on photos of documents have been electronically redacted for this ad, but the originals and photo copies remain untouched.
Mechanical Details
• Engine: 292 Y-block V8 (original)
• Transmission: Ford-O-Matic 2-speed automatic (original)
• Odometer: 122,000+ (true mileage unknown)
• Condition: Non-running, engine turns partially in both directions (likely stuck valve), starter will turn
• Brakes: Inoperable – rear wheels locked (likely frozen emergency brake)
• Steering: Front wheels turn freely and steer fine
• Battery: Some lights work when battery is connected
• Tires: Almost like new with good tread, car has been stored on blocks
Condition & Restoration Needs
This is a project vehicle that sat outside for years and will require a complete restoration.
Key issues include:
• Rust: Rockers show considerable rust; floorboards have surface rust and some rust holes, radiator support shows rust. Possible surface rust around windshield and trim. However, frame and trunk appear solid with surface rust and a couple of tiny holes in trunk floor.
• Interior: Needs full restoration (seats and door panels badly worn, headliner torn, no carpet, package tray rough)
• Glass/Seals: Rear window good, windshield marked, side glasses cracked, rubber seals and weather-stripping dry-rotted
• Exterior Color: Monte Carlo Red with Corinthian White roof (factory colors)
• Wheels: 14" steel wheels with correct Starliner hubcaps
Extras Included
• NOS chrome hood ornament
• NOS chrome outside mirrors
• Reproduction chrome fender gun sights
• NOS front grill emblem with insert
• Original fender skirts
• Factory shop manual
• Original color brochures
• Copies of original 1960 documents (title, sales invoice)

*These cars are one of a kind, don't miss out on your chance to get one with so much history. Please review the pictures carefully, I even included one picture of the day I brought the car home and washed it. The owner had put 1957 Ford hubcaps on it which I have since replaced with correct 1960 Ford Starliner hubcaps.
Please feel free to reach out with questions or to arrange any inspections prior to purchase. Thank you!
