Vehicle Description
While there is something to be said about owning an original Pony
Car, there is an argument that can be made that enjoying the look
and feel of a classic muscle car, but also benefit from the
upgrades to technology in the last sixty or so years makes the
experience extremely greater. This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Restomod
is the epitome and personification of that argument, and it is a
strong one. Fully repainted in its original Matador Red, this
first-gen Camaro knows how to make an entrance with its white
hockey stripe trim, matching vinyl hardtop, and cowl-induction
hood. And let's not forget those polished chrome five-spoke Boyd
Codington wheels that make it known that this car has more than a
few upgrades since its production date.
Inside, we find an interior that is possibly even more stunning
than Camaro's head-turning exterior. Plush TMI-made bucket seats
adorned with high-quality two-tone vinyl, which can also be found
along the door and trim panels, make this cockpit feel racy even
before you turn the key. A stock-style center console has been
pleasantly augmented with dual cupholders and a set of white-faced
gauges displaying fuel, oil, voltage, and engine temperature
contrasts nicely with the staple-style shifter and sliding HVAC
controls. A beautiful, polished three-spoke wood-rimmed steering
wheel looks right at home, as do the door-mounted power window
controls. The head unit may look classic, but it is only
retro-styled not to stand out negatively, and actually includes an
AUX input and Bluetooth to power the nicely finished trunk-mounted
JL amps and ten-inch JL W7 subwoofers.
Under the hood, we find a Chevy Performance crate 350 cubic-inch
V-8 crate motor. Featuring lightweight AFR aluminum heads, a
upgraded Holley multipoint fuel injection system, MSD ignition, and
a Griffin aluminum radiator with dual electric fans to help it keep
cool. Headman shorty headers flow through an X-pipe dual exhaust
capped off with a set of Dynomax mufflers. Power is routed through
a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission before heading out to the
ten-bolt rear mounted to a 4-link and coilover setup, where it is
sent to those gorgeous wheels shod in staggered Michelin Pilot
Sport tires measuring 275/40ZR-17 in back and narrower 245/40ZR-17
up front.

This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Restomod rides on an independent front
suspension consisting of tubular control arms and a swaybar, with a
four-link solid-axle rear and adjustable coilovers at all four
corners. Ridetech subframe connectors improve rigidity, while
four-wheel power brakes featuring four-piston Wilwood calipers and
two-piece rotors rein in speed with ease. Sure, owning an original
car is great, but if you also want to enjoy the benefit of the last
half-century's worth of engineering upgrades, then this is the car
you've been waiting for. Don't wait, call today!
