1947 Hudson pickup, the last year of manufacturing. The truck was originally a Super Six, but the engine has been replaced with an early 1950's Hudson 308 C.I. Twin H Power engine with twin one-barrel carburetors on a side mounted intake manifold, and a three-speed manual transmission. Runs, drives, shifts and stops. The body appears to be solid, and the wood bed flooring is in good shape. The truck has a four-wheel standard disk brake conversion and manual steering. I bought the truck two years ago with plans to make it a hobby build, but life got in the way. It has been garage kept since I purchased it, and was garage kept by the previous owner. I honestly don't have a lot of information to share. The truck has been painted matte black, and the interior has been insulated with foil backed sound suppression material. I have crawled around under the truck but have never had it on a lift. The frame and flooring appear to be in good condition. There is an oil leak toward the back of the engine, but I can't tell the exact origin without having it in the air. It has a dual exhaust manifold with a nice rumble. The massive 308 C.I. six-cylinder engine runs strong and has no knocking or valve tappet sound although the carbs are running very rich. I have driven it around my neighborhood for fun and to keep it moving but have never had it on the highway. There are several large bins of miscellaneous parts, original shop manuals, as well as the original bench seat. The truck has no chrome on the body, but the stainless grill is in good shape. In fact, in the parts bins are additional stainless grill slats. Someone before me had an idea of making a hot rod, but it could still be restored. The forward tilting nose clip does not align and latch, but I don't see damage. My guess is whomever switched out the engine removed the clip and never properly aligned it. When I ran across this rare truck in operating condition I had to have it. It's a very cool truck and has enormous potential. The truck has a clear Maryland title in my name.
