This 1998 Defender 110 soft-top underwent a light restoration over eight months in 2024. The work included a full repaint in Marine Blue, new black Nappa leather upholstery, black square-weave carpeting, and a black canvas soft top. The rear features four inward-facing bench seats with seat and lap belts, accommodating up to 10 passengers.
Additional features include a Marshall Stanmore speaker integrated into the cubby box and a 3-speed fan A/C system. It rides on 16” Wolf-style wheels wrapped in 285/55/16 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires, with a matching spare mounted to a swing-out rear carrier.
Power comes from a BMW-sourced M52 2.8i inline-six, producing around 200HP and capable of reaching 100MPH. These engines were factory-fitted during BMW’s ownership of Land Rover South Africa in the late 1990s. Just 1,396 Defenders were built with this drivetrain - only 235 of them in this long-wheelbase configuration.
The truck remains right-hand drive, as originally produced, preserving its authenticity.
