My 1964 Triumph TR4 underwent a repaint and an interior re-trim in addition to a suspension overhaul, an engine rebuild, and installation of a Vitesse five-speed manual transmission as part of a refurbishment completed under previous ownership from 2021 to 2022. Acquired by the seller in 2023, the car is finished in gloss black with a black vinyl soft top and rides on 15″ Minator alloy wheels. Inside, light gray leather–trimmed seats. door panels, rear seat are accompanied by a banjo-style steering wheel and refurbished gauges. Power is from an over bored 2.1-liter inline-four fitted with dual Zenith Stromberg 175CD carburetors, an aluminum radiator, and a stainless-steel exhaust system. This TR4 is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, an owner’s handbook, build records, spare parts, a tonneau cover, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name. The Giovanni Michelotti–designed body the factory painted in Signal Red and was reportedly media-blasted before being repainted in its current black finish in 2022. The car is further equipped with a driver-side mirror, a flip-up fuel-filler cap, and bumpers with over riders. It is accompanied by a replacement black vinyl convertible soft top paired and a zippered tonneau cover and an additional black convertible still in the box.
The 15″ Minator alloy wheels wheels are mounted with 185/70 Vredestein tires. The seller tells us that a chassis overhaul completed by Apple Hydraulics of Calverton, New York, involved installation of a replacement steering rack and shocks along with front brake calipers and pads. The cabin houses bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in gray leather, which extends to the door panels. Replacement black carpets line the floors, and further interior appointments include a cabin heater, a locking glovebox, and a rear parcel shelf. A banjo-style steering wheel frames a white-painted dashboard with a black vinyl surround. A Jaeger 120-mph speedometer, 6k-rpm tachometer, and centrally mounted gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are accompanied by a Lucas ammeter. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership. The seller states that the gauges have been refurbished and that total mileage is unknown.
