Vehicle Description
Presented here is one of the most legendary performance cars of the
1980s-this 1987 Buick Regal Grand National, a true American icon
that redefined what a muscle car could be. Finished in its original
factory black paint, this Grand National is a beautifully preserved
example from the final and most powerful year of production. With
its stealthy looks, turbocharged V6, and cult following, the '87
Grand National has become one of the most sought-after collector
cars of the modern era. Buick's mission in the 1980s was to bring
performance back to the streets, and in the process, they created a
monster. Powered by a 3.8L turbocharged and intercooled V6, the
1987 Grand National put down 245 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of
torque, delivering 0-60 times that embarrassed Corvettes, Camaros,
and even Ferraris of the day. Backed by a 4-speed automatic
transmission and a limited-slip rear end, the Grand National wasn't
just quick-it was shockingly fast and incredibly capable for its
time. The exterior is all business. Finished in its original glossy
black paint-the only color offered on the GN-it retains that
sinister, monochrome look that made it instantly recognizable. The
wheels have been upgraded to 18 Budnik GNBs(the original wheels are
also included with sale) and combined with the blacked-out trim and
subtle badging give the car a no-nonsense presence. This is the car
that earned the nickname "Darth Vader's car," and it still lives up
to that reputation. Inside, the Grand National features its
trademark two-tone black and gray bucket seat interior with the
signature "Turbo 6" logo embroidered on the headrests. The dash is
loaded with factory gauges, including a tach and boost gauge, and
everything has a clean, well-preserved appearance. Even the
original AM/FM radio and climate controls are still in place and
functioning. The car feels tight and well cared for, a testament to
its low mileage and careful ownership. This particular example has
been garage-kept, and its original paint is a standout feature-an
increasingly rare trait, as many of these cars have been repainted
over the years. Modifications include 3 stainless exhaust, Turbo
Tweek chip upgrade (ups boost to 16-18psi), polished inlet pipe,
160-degree thermostat, and 45lb injectors with a high flo fuel pump
and billet adj. regulator. The undercarriage, engine bay, and
interior all reflect a car that has been lovingly maintained and
never abused. The vehicle has been ceramic coated and comes with a
clean CarFax report showing mileage history and it's time spent in
Georgia and Florida. With the Grand National's legendary status,
low production numbers, and final-year enhancements, values
continue to climb steadily year after year. Whether you're a
seasoned collector or looking to experience the raw, analog turbo
power of the '80s, this 1987 Buick Grand National is a standout
example that delivers on every level. Contact Brian at 352-307-1968
