-Viper Green with Yellow graphics and Yellow Fuchs wheel centers,
Black interior, Black carpeting, 2.7 Liter Flat 6-cylinder, 915
5-Speed manual gearbox, One of the 500 first series Touring RS's,
Recent documented restoration by UK Porsche specialist, Collector
owned.
This Carrera RS 2.7 was completed in January 1973 designated as an
M472 Touring. It was originally optioned with Black leatherette
with Houndstooth, left and right retractable shoulder and lap
belts, rear fog light and Pirelli tires. The RS was initially
prepared for and sold to its first owner in Porsches home market of
Germany. Originally painted in Viper Green (code 3838), only 60 of
the original 1,580 RSs were painted in this vibrant color.
This RS has always remained in excellent collector care and well
serviced regardless of use. In its most recent collector ownership,
although not needing an engine rebuild, the 7R engine case was
porous as they all eventually become. Therefore, this RS has been
the recipient of a complete engine rebuild by a well-known and
respected Porsche specialist at a cost of over $80,000.00, and
using one of the first 7R magnesium engine cases having been
recently reissued-produced by Porsche's factory Classic department.
The original numbers matching engine case comes with this RS as
well as complete documentation of the recent rebuild.
This 911 RS is certainly one of the finest available on the market
today, in exceptional condition throughout and ready for immediate
collectability and touring pleasure.
