The Chevrolet Camaro was an instant success story, one that
continues to this day. The current version of the Camaro shadows
the first generation legend, a very wise GM marketing decision.
This 1968 Camaro SS/RS was fully restored in 2004 as a frame-off
restoration (even though a Camaro has no true 'frame'). Based on
the data tag, the exterior of this Camaro was originally finished
in Corvette Bronze Metallic with a black vinyl top (code 02). The
exterior has been professionally refinished and is in outstanding
condition. Overall body fit and finish is exceptional. Accents
include a virtually perfect black vinyl top, subtle front/rear
spoilers, functional cowl-induction hood and the Rally Sport grill
w/hide-away headlights. The fully restored black vinyl interior
looks every bit as good as the original. Some of the features
include new upholstery, center console w/wood accent trim, SS gauge
package, factory tach, Hurst shifter, walnut tilt-wheel, tinted
windows and an AM/FM/Cassette sound system.
Horsepower comes from the matching-numbers 350ci small-block that
was built in 2006 and fitted with a dual-feed Holley 4-barrel and
electronic distributor. The factory M-22 Muncie 4-speed
transmission was replaced by a Tremec 5-speed (original Muncie
trans and distributor included in sale). Torque is delivered to a
stock differential with 3.73:1 gearing. The chassis is equipped
with power steering, power disc/drum brakes, new fuel tank and new
exhaust. This Camaro SS/RS is Bowtie lore that will only become
more valuable over time. You will not go wrong with this classic
Chevy as an investment and special driving experience. ALL VEHICLES
