Vehicle Description
1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 - 100M Tribute
A rare opportunity to own a truly special 1956 Austin-Healey 100
BN2, beautifully modified to 100M Tribute specifications. This
exceptional example has a fascinating history, originally sold new
in Hong Kong before being imported to California in 1959. In the
early 1970s, it found a long-term home with a Professor in Arizona,
where it remained cherished and preserved for decades until our
acquisition. Throughout its life, it has been meticulously
maintained, and today, it stands as an original, rust-free example
that embodies the spirit of classic British motoring.
During the 1990s, this Healey was sympathetically restored and
upgraded to 100M specifications with a range of period-correct
modifications. Under the hood, the original engine was enhanced
with high-performance pistons, a hotter camshaft, twin SU
carburetors, and the signature cold airbox, giving it the power and
character of the legendary factory-built 100M models. The classic
louvered hood with a leather hold-down strap was added, along with
a stainless steel exhaust system to enhance both aesthetics and
performance.
The driving experience is further elevated with a four-speed manual
transmission and electric overdrive, making it an absolute joy on
the open road. The wood-rimmed steering wheel provides the perfect
vintage touch, while the chrome wire wheels and period-correct
driving lights complete the iconic 100M look.
Beyond its mechanical and visual appeal, what makes this
Austin-Healey truly special is its incredible documentation.
Accompanying the car is an extensive file of original paperwork
dating back to 1959, including correspondence from past owners,
historic service records, and its British Motor Industry Heritage
Certificate. It is rare to find an example with such a complete and
continuous ownership history, making it a true collector's
dream.
This Healey has always been a fair-weather car and does not include
a top or side curtains, as it was never driven in conditions
requiring them. However, it does come with its tonneau cover and an
extra set of keys.
A beautifully preserved piece of 1950s British sports car history,
this Austin-Healey 100 BN2 100M Tribute is a rare and exciting find
for any enthusiast.
