This 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible hits that thrilling sweet spot
in pony-car evolution: the first major redesign, more aggressive
proportions, and enhanced cabin comfort. The long-hood/short-deck
silhouette that cemented the Mustang as the blueprint for all pony
cars first arrived in '67.
Under the hood sits a stout 302?V8 married to a smooth-shifting C-4
automatic-an unusual and welcome twist. Though factory 302 V8s
weren't widely documented in '67, Ford did dip into 302 castings
late in the run-making this a rare, ear-pleasing swap that turns
heads .
Finished in classic red with a black interior, this convertible
shines from top to bottom. The power folding top, GT-specific
grille, Monte Carlo bar, and Ford Performance valve covers set it
apart as a well-sorted cruiser built for both show and go.
This Mustang is loaded with power steering, front discs, aluminum
radiator, manual brakes, dual exhaust and an aftermarket Holley
carburetor-dialing in sharp steering, improved stopping, and
race-tuned attitude. The 17? Torque Thrust wheels not only look
right, they hint at the car's purposeful stance.
With just ~44,800 convertibles produced in 1967 out of over 472,000
Mustangs, this drop-top is uncommon and desirable, a true pony-car
star. It's a vintage cruiser loaded with tasteful upgrades that
keep its soul intact and ensure it's destined to be a show-stopper
and a future collectible.
