The Chevelle was introduced in 1964 and quickly went on to be one
of Chevrolet's most successful nameplates. The first generation
spanned from 1964 to 1967 but in 1966 got a complete restyle with a
new broad grill, smooth contours, curved side windows, new bumper
treatment and more. It was more a "Coke bottle" body shape which
was the fad for American cars in the mid-60s. In 1967 it received
more of a facelift which included a redesigned rear end with
wraparound taillamps. This 1967 Chevelle is a very nice car and is
a factory "138" code super sport. It is painted in its correct "F"
code Bright Blue paint and the body is all solid and all rust free.
From the chrome bumpers to the hood trim all of the brightwork
throughout is in excellent shape with a great shine. The glass on
it is all good and it has a factory ordered front tinted
windshield. It has all of its factory SS badging nicely mounted in
place with the 396 emblems as well. All of the lights on it work
properly with no issues. The car has a great stance and rides on a
set of nicely chromed Rally wheels with Grand Prix Performance GT
tires.
Underneath the hood the car has a date correct 396 motor that runs
great. This is not its numbers matching motor but is the correct
motor for the car. The block/heads are nicely painted and fitted
with nice chrome valve covers, 396 chrome air cleaner, and a Weiand
intake with a 4 barrel carburetor. It runs nice and cool thanks to
the aftermarket aluminum radiator. The car has factory power brakes
and slow the car to a stop smoothly. Backing up the motor is a
Tremec 5 speed manual transmission that sends power back to the 12
bolt rear end. It is a great driver and doesn't smoke or have any
issues. It sounds good too through dual exhaust that exits behind
the rear wheels.
Inside the car it has factory bucket seats and is the code 731
medium bright Blue upholstery which is in excellent condition
throughout. Matching Blue lap belts are in place in both front and
rear. Between the seats is its factory center console which
provides a storage compartment, houses the Hurst shifter, and also
has the clock. The dash is all nicely painted and topped off with
its matching Blue dash pad. It has its original gauges but added
ones have been put in place below the dash for the temp, oil
pressure, amp and tachometer. The trunk has a nice Black mat in
place and offers plenty of space for all your car show gear. The
car comes with some of its original paperwork and an Eckler's
Chevelle parts book.
This beautiful car has a lot to offer and being a true SS
definitely puts it at the top of the list. In the world of muscle
cars the Chevelle SS is very desirable so get it while you can.
