From 1957 to 1975, International Harvester offered the light-duty
Travelette as a way to haul 6 men to the jobsite. Continuing IH's
long line of innovation in the truck and 4x4 world, the Travelette
was the first factory-produced crew-cab pickup, offering extended
cab space to accommodate up the six passengers. The Travelette was
offered as either a 3-door or 4-door variant, with this particular
example being the latter. Additionally, this example boasts a
documented 62,000 original miles! It also features a power take-off
dumping bed, 4-wheel drive, and a 4-speed manual transmission. This
truck was used on a Colorado farm from 1966 to 1977 where it was
then parked in a barn due to engine failure. It sat in that barn
until a few years ago when it was purchased and carefully
mechanically restored to get it back on the road while not messing
with the history or patina of the truck. It runs, drives, steers,
shits, and stops and it should and is ready to work your farm, or
use as a show truck, or your errand runner. If you decide to show
it, you are almost guaranteed to be the only IH Travelette at the
show as these are exceedingly rare! If you are an International
Harvester fan, you know what you're looking at here and you know
you'll never see another one so don't delay!
