1995 Ford Mustang Cobra R (Collectors Only) This 1995 Ford Mustang
SVT Cobra R is #5 of 250 built for the model year, and it was
purchased new by the seller from Vanderhyde Brothers Ford in Cedar
Springs, Michigan. Now showing 6k miles, the car is finished in
Crystal White over Saddle cloth and is powered by a 5.8-liter V8
linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok
limited-slip differential. It rides on 17? five-spoke Cobra R
wheels along with Koni adjustable shock absorbers and is further
equipped with larger-diameter swaybars, a revised radiator and oil
cooler, a fiberglass hood, a rear spoiler, and anti-lock disc
brakes. The Cobra R can be distinguished from the standard Cobra
coupe by its revised front fascia, the absence of fog lights, and a
raised cowl on the fiberglass hood to accommodate the engine's
taller intake plenum. The only color offered was Crystal White
Clearcoat (ZR), and additional equipment includes a fixed rear
spoiler, power-adjustable side mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets.
Silver 17? five-spoke Cobra R wheels are mounted with 255/45
Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. Anti-lock braking is
provided by Cobra-branded front calipers and ventilated discs at
each corner. Factory suspension upgrades over the standard Mustang
Cobra included adjustable Koni shocks, progressive-rate springs, a
front strut-tower brace, and larger-diameter sway bars. The bucket
seats are trimmed in Saddle cloth, and the driver's seat is
power-adjustable. Cobra R models were not equipped with rear seats,
and additional weight-saving measures included the omission of air
conditioning, an audio system, and sound insulation. The four-spoke
steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a
5,800-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature,
voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows
6k miles. The 5.8-liter V8 was shared with the F-150 Lightning but
fitted with higher-compression pistons, a more aggressive camshaft,
and a larger throttle body. The engine was factory rated at 300
horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque, and R models are also equipped
with an aluminum radiator, a power steering cooler, an engine oil
cooler, and a fuel cell with a high-capacity fuel pump. The oil was
changed in preparation for the sale. Power is routed to the rear
wheels via a TR-3550 five-speed manual transmission and a
Traction-Lok limited-slip differential. The Ford Motor Company
certificate of authenticity lists the car as #5 of 250 built. A
window sticker, manufacturer's literature, delivery day photos,
period magazines, a car cover, and a Cobra R wheel are also
included in the sale. Clean Carfax 1 owner vehicle (by request)
