Trivia & History- R107 SLs were known as The Businessmans Muscle
Car in Europe elegant, powerful, and composed. The 450SL was the
final V8 SL with chrome bumpers before design and emissions changes
reshaped the SL line. Built on one of Mercedes-Benzs longest
production chassis (19711989). Notable owners of R107 SLs include
Frank Sinatra, John Lennon, and Farrah Fawcett. The M117 engine
platform later powered Mercedes high-performance 6.9 SEL
sedans.
