Perhaps the most interesting model released by Rolls-Royce during the Silver Shadow period, the Camargue was originally intended to replace the Corniche as the brand's flagship. In an effort to ensure the design was "dramatically different" than all that had come before, the company engaged Pininfarina's design services. Using the floorpan of the Silver Shadow as their basis, the Italian firm followed their brief with typical poise, creating an automobile that looked like nothing else in the British company's range but was unmistakably a Rolls-Royce.

Naturally, significant effort was expended on the interior. A new, ultra-soft leather named "Nuella" lined nearly every surface that wasn't already covered in Burl Walnut veneer or distinctive matte black metal surrounds. Additionally, new bi-level automatic climate control was introduced - the first system of its kind. The result was an immensely luxurious, "aircraft-style" cockpit that comfortably sat four adults. Due to its significant cost - nearly $20,000 more than a comparable Corniche upon release - only 530 Camargues were constructed over its twelve year production run (plus one constructed as a Bentley). Since its inception, the Camargue has always been a unique Rolls-Royce, with enthusiasts growing ever more fond of its stunning styling and rarity.

The stunning 1979 Rolls-Royce Camargue Coupe featured here is finished in gorgeous Silver Chalice over impeccably kept Scarlet Nuella leather interior surrounded by magnificent Burl Walnut woodwork throughout. This investment-grade Rolls-Royce is one of only 530 produced and was delivered new in Newport Beach, California where it was preserved in essentially new condition. We are proud to offer what we believe to be one of the very best Camargues to come to market in years to the most sophisticated collector, investor, or enthusiast who understands and appreciates the rarity and investment potential of this topline Rolls-Royce.
