For Sale: 1999 Mercedes-Benz G500 in Savannah, Georgia
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1999 Mercedes-Benz G500
Cabriolet. The W463 G500 is exceptionally rare, with only 306 built
during a brief production run from 1998 to 2003. Finished in
Obsidian Black Metallic over black leather interior, this G-Wagen
has complete service history to new (including over 100 invoices in
a binder, plus the original books). Very clean inside and out with
116,924 kilometers (which translates to 72,653 miles). Only
recently eligible for import (year models 1998 through 2000
only).
Paint meter readings indicate original paint on every body panel,
with the exception of a four-inch-wide strip above the rub rail on
the passenger side door and quarter panel; there's a reference in
the records to vandalism so we suspect it was keyed by either a
jealous lover or an anti-capitalist. Canvas top in excellent
condition; windows are clear, and the power top mechanism works
properly (lowering and raising the top is considerably easier than
the manual top W460 cabriolet). Factory 18-inch alloy wheels are
wearing Yokohama Geolandar tires with nearly full-depth tread
remaining. No known rust.
Interior is in excellent original condition with nice dash,
steering wheel, door panels, and carpets - leather seating surfaces
remain soft and supple. Factory stereo is working, along with all
lights, instruments, indicators and climate control (a/c blows
cold). Having recently driven and sold a W460 280GE (which was
quite charming), we can say with confidence that this W463 G500 is
orders of magnitude more refined. It's also an order of magnitude
more expensive, but who's counting. Something this special feels
like a bargain at any price.
Under the hood is an M113 5.0 liter V8 mated to a five-speed
automatic transmission. Full-time four-wheel drive with locking
front, center and rear differentials. With fewer than 75,000
documented original miles, this drivetrain is barely broken in (for
comparison my personal daily driver is a 2008 G500 with 202,000
miles and it's still going strong).
Owner's books, two remote keys, first aid kit, tools, service
records and all import documents are included. Sold on a clean and
clear Georgia title in our dealership's name. For more information
about this 1999 Mercedes-Benz G500 Cabriolet for sale at Motorcar
Studio, please call 912-235-0435.
