This Toyota is stored in our Aiken, SC climate-controlled warehouse
and comes with a current South Carolina title. The vehicle shown is
100% owned, maintained, and driven by us here at Car Cave. For more

favorite 70 Series showing the original paint finished in the
Medium Red Pearl (Toyota Paint Code 3H4) with original graphics.
This is an excellent color combo and period correct look. Overall,
this vehicle is an outstanding, unmolested representation of the
iconic and rare Land Cruiser hardtop convertible. The KZJ73 was
only built for the European market for 3 years, making it treasured
and hard to find. We enjoy driving this model due to the coil
springs (in comparison to the leaf springs on the B and HZJ) and
engine with lots of pep. This 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser KZJ73 is a
left-hand-drive European-spec model sold new in Southern France on
September 9, 1993. Car Cave purchased this beautiful Red Pearl
KZJ73 from Monsieur Julien, located in Montferrand, France.
Vitrolles is part of the drier region of Southern France, on the
same latitude as Spain and Italy, and that dry climate helped
maintain this vehicle.Europe was the only market lucky enough to
receive the left-hand-drive, coil-sprung KZJ73 equipped with the
1KZ-T engine?our favorite 70 Series platform. The 1KZ-T (as opposed
to the 1KZ-TE) features the sought-after mechanical injection pump
and was built without an EGR valve?a major advantage when tuning
and for keeping exhaust gas temperatures down.Upgrades and

HitchRecent maintenance includes a timing belt completed by the
previous owner. Car Cave did an extensive list of maintenance
including full oil and filter service, new air and fuel filters, a
replacement lower oil pan gasket, and new gaskets and seals for the
valve cover, turbo, and differentials. The vehicle also received a
new alternator. The braking system was thoroughly serviced with a
new master cylinder, brake fluid flush, new pads, hardware, and
hoses all around, rear drums, and a parking brake overhaul. The
clutch system was bled, and the drivetrain received a full
inspection and service.Additional improvements included a new
heater control knob, alignment, tire balancing, and fresh fluids
throughout. The Land Cruiser also received a full detail and
exterior refresh, including a five-stage paint correction, engine
bay detail, interior deep clean, and freshly repainted fender
flares. The result is a well-sorted and dialed-in KZJ73 that's
ready for road or trail with a clean bill of health and recent
service totaling over $7,100.A 3.0L turbo diesel powers this Land
Cruiser, mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a two-speed
transfer case. The smooth-running, ultra-reliable Toyota 1KZ-T is a
2,982cc single overhead cam, indirect injection turbo diesel. The
timing belt has been replaced recently. The front hubs are factory
push button activated, with push-button 4WD high range and a
floor-shifted transfer case for low-range situations. This Cruiser
is finished in its original factory Medium Red Pearl, with no signs
of previous paintwork. The fiberglass removable FRP top is shown in
a contrasting original white.Aftermarket upgrades on this Land
Cruiser are minimal, limited to a Sony CD Player and a trailer ball
in the rear?which is just fine by us, as the KZJ73 drives
exceptionally well in stock form both on and off-road. Underneath
the FRP top is a factory-integrated roll cage, allowing rear
passengers to enjoy the safety of three-point seatbelts. The grey
carpets and Grey Moon Mist cloth interior are both original and in
great condition. The driver's seat does have a tear on the bottom
cushion, but we did not want to repair it and tamper with the
original upholstery.Factory options include power locks, power
steering, a center console, power windows, tilt steering wheel,
rear barn doors, rear wiper, digital clock, and rear defrost. The
original factory Toyota altimeter and inclinometer are still
present. The vehicle is currently fitted with BF Goodrich All
Terrain 31x10.50R15 tires mounted on the factory 15' chrome
wheels. The removable top and integrated roll cage make this a
versatile platform, and several aftermarket suppliers offer soft
top kits to further customize this vehicle. The windshield also
folds down onto the hood?perfect for a throwback overlanding
experience with the wind in your face. Car Cave is extremely
familiar with 70 Series Land Cruisers and can modify them to suit
any vision.Body Data Plate Information:Model: KZJ73LV
