Since its restoration completion showing only 1,866 miles, this
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hard Top wears deep black paint that covers
every contour of its classic hardtop profile. Rolling on 17-inch
Riddler wheels wrapped in 225/50R17 Toyo tires, the exterior
showcases proper Bel Air trim and badging across its two-door body.
Chrome brightwork accents the window frames and bumpers while dual
exhaust tips peek out from beneath the rear. The glass remains
clear throughout, and the iconic '57 Chevy lines flow uninterrupted
from nose to tail.
Red vinyl and cloth upholstery fills the cabin with bench seating
and column shifter configuration that maintains the original
layout. The two-tone interior treatment extends across door panels,
while carpet covers the floor beneath your feet. An aftermarket
AM/FM radio provides entertainment, supported by aftermarket
speakers throughout the cabin. Digital gauges line the instrument
cluster alongside a digital clock for modern convenience. Air
conditioning keeps things comfortable, while power steering makes
handling effortless. The painted dashboard face complements the red
interior theme, and the factory steering wheel sits ready for
action.
Motivation comes from a built 355 cubic inch V8 that was balanced
and blueprinted by Nichols Engineering, featuring a high nickel
Australian block bored .030 over with forged pistons. Dart Pro1
aluminum heads with 64cc chambers top the motor, while a solid
roller COMP cam controls valve timing. A Holley Brawler 650
carburetor feeds the engine through a chrome Edelbrock intake
manifold. Power transfers through a TH350 three-speed automatic
transmission that has covered the same 1,866 miles as the engine
rebuild. Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes provide stopping
power, while shorty headers feed into dual exhaust with aftermarket
mufflers. The suspension combines coil springs and shocks with a
sway bar up front, leaf springs and shocks out back, all riding on
a GM 10-bolt rear end.
