The Dodge Viper ACR (American Club Racer), launched in 2016, took
the performance car world by storm by setting 13 road course lap
records, the most of any production car, as certified by the Sports
Car Club of America. At the heart of this 2017 Viper ACR is a
formidable 8.4-liter V10 engine, delivering an impressive 645
horsepower through a six-speed manual transmission. It features
Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix 15-inch rotors with six-piston
calipers and double-adjustable Bilstein coil-over suspension
capable of sustaining up to 1.5 g while cornering. The Extreme Aero
Package ($6,900) further elevates the vehicle's aerodynamic
capabilities with an extreme front splitter, removable hood louvers
to reduce front wheel drag, four dive planes, a rear carbon fiber
diffuser, and a 74-inch adjustable dual-element rear wing that
combine to produce one ton of downforce at 177 miles per hour.
This example, finished in the optional Gunmetal Pearl, features not
only the ACR Package but the ACR Extreme Aero Package as well,
comprising nearly $17,000 worth of factory-fitted options. The
Extreme Aero Package further optimizes the vehicle's handling and
stability at high speeds. Other options include the Exterior Carbon
Fiber Package featuring the front brake duct bezels, rear brake
duct bezels, and rear carbon fiber applique. Additional performance
options include 19x11 front and 19x13-inch rear ACR Black Monkey
wheels, Viper door sill plate applique, and a carbon fiber
structural X-brace.
In addition to the performance enhancements, the Black and
Silver-Stitch interior features high-grip Alcantara on the seats
and steering wheel. ACR-specific parts were used for the center
console, door trim, floor mats, and instrument panel with its
8.4-inch touchscreen display and seven-inch reconfigurable digital
cluster displaced with a 220-mph primary speedometer. The
lightweight carpet was used for weight-saving measures, while the
speakers and the rear cargo floor covering were deleted.
Today, with just 350 miles at the time of cataloging, this 2017
Dodge Viper ACR Extreme Aero remains in fantastic condition held
within the American Performance Collection from new and is
supported by a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report. Unlikely to be
produced again, this ACR Extreme Aero Package is the ideal
opportunity to experience the most potent street-legal track
