In the long and illustrious lineage of the Corvette, the C3
generation still stands as the longest-running iteration of Chevy's
halo car. This 1982 Chevrolet Corvette represents the final year of
the C3 and holds a special place in the hearts and minds of
enthusiasts everywhere. With its numbers-matching engine and
signature swoopy lines highlighted by a then-new Cross-Fire
Injection system, this 'Vette is a bridge and preview to what would
begin the C4 generation in 1984.
Pop off this car's T-tops and you'll be treated to an inviting and
mostly stock red vinyl interior featuring supportive and plush
bucket seats separated by a center console armrest, giving this car
a true cockpit feel. A three-spoke padded steering wheel sits in
front of a matching set of big analog gauges consisting of an 85
mph speedometer and a matching 7,000 rpm tachometer. In typical C3
fashion, a five-pod cluster of gauges sits on top of the AM/FM
stereo head unit.
Under that signature front-hinged fiberglass hood, we find a
numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V8. Featuring its then-new
Cross-Fire Injection system, this car sends power through its
first-ever 700R4 four-speed overdrive automatic transmission. A
stock exhaust manifold and factory-style dual-to-single-to-dual
exhaust leads us to believe this car's power output is probably
very close to the 200 horsepower and 285 pound-feet of torque it
came with off the production line.

This 1982 Chevrolet Corvette rides on a coil/shock front suspension
with a mono leaf spring setup out back. Four-wheel power disc
brakes hide behind a set of fifteen-inch Rallye-style wheels, shod
in 225/70R-15 BF Goodrich tires. The Corvette's third generation
spanned fifteen model years from 1968 until 1982. This car stands
as a beautiful testament to the evolution of this long-loved sports
car, and for good reason. If you've been looking for a fine example
of a head-turning C3, then this is the car you've been waiting
for.
