This exciting 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Supercharged LT4 Custom with Roadster Shop Chassis is the perfect blend of original and custom. This car was built to show but also enjoy. As the original VIN and Trim Tag indicate this car was built on the second week of May in Arlington, TX with a Green exterior, Green vinyl top and Green interior. As the original build sheet that's included indicates it was built as a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 “L34” with bucket seats, air conditioning, automatic with console shifter and much more. It was retailed by Mathis Chevrolet located in Burkburnett, TX. From the information gathered it spent its entire life in Texas until it was acquired by last owner in 2022. The car had been previously restored in 2020 to show quality standards which included refinishing it in Fathom Blue with white racing stripes. The last owner had a vision of taking this car to an even higher level which included both cosmetic and mechanical improvements. The extensive build included mostly new parts throughout. It was started in 2023 and was completed in April of 2025. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car in April of 2025 with only 49 test miles. MS CLASSIC CARS invested a total of $15,107.20 in service and detail which is documented with an invoice that's included. May of 2025 is the first time it's been listed for sale. This Chevelle is the cat's meow!
The exterior of this Chevelle is simply gorgeous with its factory design, color combination, wheel selection and stance. From the information gathered it retains most of its original sheet metal. The body is straight and the cowl hood fits very nicely. The doors also close very nicely. The Fathom Blue paint is decorated with white racing stripes. The show quality paint was recently detailed to a brilliant finish. During the recent build the glass was replaced new which includes the Fuyao front windshield, door glass, rear quarter glass and rear windshield. Everything on the exterior has been restored or replaced new including the stainless glass trim, wiper arms, cowl trim, side mirrors, front grille with SS emblem, headlight buckets, Sylvania headlights, front bumper, door handles, rear bumper, tail light bezels and lenses. The side fenders were decorated with SS and LT4 Supercharged emblems. It was outfitted with 20” Forgeline VX3C Concave forged alloy wheels that have a Graphite center and brushed lip. The wheels are wrapped with new Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires that are 245-40-20 on the front and 285-30-20 on the rear.
The interior of this Chevelle compliments the exterior perfectly with its color combination of white and black. The interior was completely restored during the recent build keeping the factory original appearance with modest upgrades. Everything has been replaced new including the black headliner, dome light, sun visors, rear view mirror, black dash pad, black dash, knobs, glove box, tilt steering column, door sills, white door panels, door hardware, center console, rear seat upholstery, rear package tray, seat belts, pedals and carpeting. Some of the new custom features include Dakota Digital VHX gauges, Vintage Air Conditioning with control panel, USB ports, Autosound stereo, Kenwood speakers located in kick panels, 15.5” Budnik G10 Graphite steering wheel, Hurst shifter with white sift knob, TMI white bucket seats, seat extensions for taller drivers and Chevelle embossed black carpeted floor mats. The trunk compartment was completely restored during the recent build which included new trunk splatter paint and carpeted trunk mat with insulation.
The engine compartment of this Chevelle is highly detailed with all new parts throughout. The cowl hood pivots on Eddie Motorsports aluminum hinges. It's outfitted with an aluminum cowl screen. The smooth firewall and inner fenders were painted gloss black. The radiator support panel was decorated with a Custom Innovations show panel that's black with engraved lines. The heart of this rad ride is a new Chevrolet Performance Supercharged LT4 that was purchased directly from Summit Racing. This engine was tuned to produce over 700hp and it runs excellent. The engine computer is mounted to the firewall with an ICT bracket. A Detroit Speed wiper motor, CPP Hydra Stop, CPP master cylinder and aluminum supercharger coolant tank with aluminum clutch reservoir is also mounted to the firewall. Some of the features include a remote oil breather, Moroso oil pan, FiTech fuel pressure gauge, Holley accessory drive kit and GMS black cold air intake with K&N filter. The engine is cooled by a Griffith aluminum radiator, HPS hoses and dual electric fans. The engine breathes through ceramic long tube headers and a 3” stainless X-pipe Magnaflow exhaust system with chrome tips. It's equipped with a new Quick Time bell housing, Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission with hydraulic clutch and Overland Driveshaft. The power is transferred to the new Ford 9” center section with Pro Iron case, Tru-Trac POSI (over 600 HP), 31-spline axles, 3.55 gears, Chrome-Moly1350 Yoke and forged aluminum pinion support.
The undercarriage of this Chevelle is also highly detailed with all new parts throughout. The floors were refinished in the original red oxide primer. The body was placed on a new Roadster Shop Spec Chassis which is serial number #RS007047. The chassis was powder coated satin black with charcoal control arms. Some other features include the front sway bar, RS SV by Fox single adjustable coilovers front and rear, parallel 4-bar rear suspension, Wilwood Pro spindles, Baer 13” drilled and slotted rotors, Baer black 4-piston calipers and stainless fuel tank. It's also equipped with a new E-STOPP emergency braking system that is operated with a push button under the dash.
