Vehicle Description
1979 Chevrolet Camaro Restored Z/28 Why Is This Car Special The
second-generation Chevrolet Camaro was produced by Chevrolet from
1970 through the 1981 model years. It was introduced in the spring
of 1970. Sales for 1979 were the highest ever for any generation
Camaro before or since, numbering 282,571 units. GM engineers have
said the second generation is much more of 'A Driver's Car' than
its predecessor. The 1979 Black with gold stipes Chevrolet Camaro
Z/28 we have here at Skyway Classics is a great example of that.

Under the hood is the 350 cubic inch small block Chevrolet V8
engine rated at 255 horsepower as noted by the L code in the VIN#.
This one performs and sounds great with the dual exhaust system
running out the back. The motor sits in a clean engine compartment
and features a factory black chrome air cleaner attached to a ram
air hose and front facing scoop, blue painted engine block, heads,
and intake, power steering, air conditioning, power disc brakes in
the front and drums in the rear, factory exhaust manifolds, and it
is mated to the 4-speed manual transmission and H.D. 10-bolt rear
end with the chassis as clean and detailed as the engine
compartment, while it rides on factory Z/28 wheels (each wheel
individually restored) and BF Goodrich Radial TA raised white
letter performance tires. Interior As part of the restoration, the
entire interior has that new look starting with the twin front
bucket seats and matching rear seat, center console with the 4-peed
shifter and white shifter ball, aftermarket stereo radio system,
power windows, air conditioning, tilt wheel, factory gauges in the
slick dash, and black carpets. Exterior The Z/28 has a fresh coat
of slick black paint that really shines, flowing over the body
panels which are straight, scooped Z/28 hood, and rear spoiler,
with the 'Z/28' stripes and decals that ran from the beginning of
the front flares to the bottoms of the doors. It has a front
spoiler and fender flares much like its Pontiac Trans Am twin had
and the rest of the fit and finish is great as well. The sounds
coming out the dual exhaust finish the appearance and attitude of
our Z/28. Conclusion This 1979 restored Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 we
have at Skyway Classics is a car that most of us wish we could have
had back then. Well, you can have it now! Come see it soon. So give
