This 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible is quite possibly the nicest
example we've ever seen. One look at it, and it's easy to see why.
Professionally restored in meticulous frame-off fashion, this
droptop was rebuilt with a focus on factory originality. Fully
repainted in its original Onyx Black exterior, this Impala sports a
contrasting Ivory White power top and a mere 2,037 miles on its
odometer since it was rebuilt. This car kicks off the Impala legend
with some nice cruiser details like rear fender skirts, faux side
exit exhaust bezels, dual aerials, and a correct-spec Continental
Kit.
Inside, we find a stunning black, grey, and turquoise interior. A
split-bench front seat, power-assisted two-spoke steering wheel
featuring a Crossed Flags center cap, and column-mounted shifter
work harmoniously with the stock-looking dashboard, allowing you to
ride in classic style. While the OE-style Wonderbar radio sits in
its original place, there is a hidden AM/FM/CD Pioneer head unit
tucked away in the glovebox, which allows for the benefit of an
original look but the convenience of modern technology.
Under the hood, we find a clean engine bay housing a 348 cubic-inch
V-8. The top offering for the first-year Impala, this small block
is topped with three two-barrel Carter carburetors that, when new,
made an advertised 280 horsepower. That power is funneled through a
two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission before being sent out
through a true dual exhaust and original equipment set of
mufflers.
