This 1950 Ford F1 is a masterfully restored example of America's
first-generation post-war pickup, brought back to life with
meticulous attention to detail. Finished in a deep, rich dark blue,
the truck's exterior gleams with fresh paint and brand-new chrome
bumpers and trim, giving it a bold yet classic presence. The
interior features a striking blue and red color scheme that adds a
vintage charm while paying homage to its heritage. Under the hood
lies a V8 Flathead 226 CI engine paired with a three-speed manual
transmission, both of which were carefully tested and painted
during the comprehensive frame-off restoration completed in 2020.
Modern upgrades such as front disc brakes and a 12-volt ground
electrical system were seamlessly integrated, including a rewound
original alternator to retain the factory-correct look. The
restoration also included a vintage wiring harness from a
California Ford, new springs and suspension bushings, a new clutch,
recoated gas tank, and refurbished radiator and heater core.
All-new glass surrounds the cab, giving a crystal-clear view from
every angle. This truck runs great and is ready to be driven or
displayed with pride.
The Ford F1 debuted in 1948 as part of Ford's all-new F-Series,
marking a turning point in the pickup truck market. No longer just
utilitarian workhorses, these trucks were designed with both
function and comfort in mind, setting a new standard for
performance and style. By 1950, the F1 had earned a reputation for
rugged reliability and became a cornerstone in Ford's lineup. It
was powered by a range of dependable engines and featured a more
refined cab than previous truck generations. This 1950 F1 is a
proud example of that legacy-carefully restored to honor its roots
while incorporating thoughtful updates to ensure it remains both
historically accurate and road-ready for years to come.
