Pre-War American Classic!
This 1939 Chevrolet Master 85 Town Sedan is a survivor of
Chevrolets final full production year before World War II and comes
finished in its stunning, factory-correct Paint Code 245: Mars Gray
Poly. Backed by Trim Code 79 for Brown Mohair interior, this
Janesville-built beauty (Body No. J3111) with a reliable 206 cubic
inch ""Stovebolt Six"", producing 85 horsepower and mated to a
3-speed manual transmission.
With original Art Deco touches like its Safety First dash cluster,
matching pinstriping on steel wheels, and chrome grillework, this
car represents the final evolution of GMs rounded-body aesthetic
before switching to the lower, wider '40s look.
Nickname - The Master 85 refers to Chevrolets base-level model with
leaf spring suspension (vs. coil-sprung Master Deluxe), designed as
the value choice during the tail end of the Great Depression now
one of the rarest surviving trim levels today.
