The last Bentley series to have a separate body on its chassis
wasn't going to be any less remarkable than the models before. As
was the case with every model sold back then, it was a rebadged
version of a Rolls Royce - which, in this case, was the Silver
Cloud. The Bentley S1 was also available in the Continental form,
taking forward what had become a tradition with the preceding R
Type. Bentley managed to sell more than 3,500 S1s, outselling the
corresponding Rolls Royce model. As a classic, it means these can
be more attainable without feeling any less special.
