This 1985 Jeep CJ-7 is a really cool, all steel, well built jeep
that spent its life in California. Owned by the same person for the
last 25 years, he was an active member in the Jeep clubs and he
built and used this Jeep as a "spotter" and it never saw any
hardcore 4-wheeling, but it certainly is capable. It is a very well
built and sorted CJ. The body on this Jeep is super clean and it
was repainted once in its original color of Sebring Red. The paint
still looks great. It has aftermarket rock sliders and rear quarter
black diamond plate protection. There is no rust or damage behind
either. It has a rear bumper with swing out tire carrier and
matching spare. The front bumper has an 8,000 pound Smitty-Built
winch on the front. It has a Bestow Soft-Top with Hard Doors.
The interior is excellent. The original front seats were redone in
marine upholstery. The rear seat is an aftermarket replacement done
to match the front seats. It has a large aftermarket center
console. The dash was restored and they added aluminum knobs. The
entire inside of the tub was Line-Xed when the Jeep was repainted
as well. It has the factory roll bar that was extended to the front
for safety. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn
signals are all working. The gauges all work. The horn, windshield
wipers, and heat work. The radio also is working.
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent and it runs and drives great!!
The engine is the 4.2L 258 Inline 6 that runs strong with no issues
or red flags that w found. This was totally rebuilt 25,000 or so
miles ago. The body had just over 200k miles on it when the Jeep
was restored and the enige was rebuilt. They added Howell Fuel
Injection to the engine which is a great upgrade. Its has the T5 5
speed manual transmission that shifts nice with a strong clutch. It
is mated to the Dana 300 transfer case and the 4WD works like it
should. The rear axle is the AMC 20 with 4.10 gears and it has an
ARB air locker, 1 piece axle shafts, and heavy duty differential
cover. The front axle is a Dana 30 with a 4.10 gears and an ARB air
locker and chrome moly axle shafts. It has a 4 Inch all spring lift
with heavy duty Currie shackles and Rancho adjustable shocks. It
has an ARB Air Compressor installed for the lockers and also
on-board air. This Jeep has power steering and power front disc
brakes. This is all sitting on some nice aftermarket aluminum
wheels with 32 inch mud terrain tires.
