Vehicle Description
2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4 Door 4x4
"Revamping an icon is never easy, especially when that icon's
history is as storied as the Jeep Wrangler. I'll spare you the
details that you probably already know, but the all new 2018 Jeep
Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, in all of its heated leather seats and
Apple CarPlay glory, is the modern day descendent of the World War
II Jeeps that helped roll back totalitarianism in Europe in Asia."
Motor Trend, January 2018
For consignment, a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara four door
with a title verified 13,484 actual miles and a list of
customizations that could fill the Grand Canyon, figuratively. You
see, there's not just one aftermarket catalogue for Jeep parts,
there are dozens. Jeep enthusiasts have a vast array of choices
when it comes to personalizing their rides. Your Camry may never
veer from its showroom appearance, but if you own a Jeep, it's
almost expected that you make it uniquely yours, and this one has
checked some boxes along the way.
Exterior
Billet Silver Metallic covers this big rig with flashes of red
accents in the hood vents, Jeep emblems, and Fab Four logo on the
Vengeance front bumper. There's a JSPEC lift on the truck making
room for showy 22-inch Fuel Blitz wheels topped by Road Armor black
fenders. The list of other exterior modifications includes a Warn
Elite rear bumper, Rigid Red pod front bumper lights, a Warn spare
tire carrier, Iron Cross LED headlights, Road Armor Fender wheel
liners, a DV8 JL Vader grille & angry eyes, an Amerihood custom
hood, and a Rigid Industry Radiance 20" red LED lights in front
bumper. This all makes for an impressive appearance and one that
will stand out even in the world of customized Jeeps! The exterior
presents more as a show car than a trail runner, and we could not
find any exterior imperfections.
Interior
Robust molded plastic and stitched vinyl armrests adorn each of the
four doors, hinting at the luxury level of accommodations inside
this 4x4. Inside, Katzkin leather seats in black diamond stitched
inserts bordered with red provide an impressive perch from the
front heated buckets as well as the rear bench with two seats
delineated and a third position in the center. Up front, a thick
steering wheel wrapped in leather is equipped with numerous thumb
controls and frames an instrument cluster backed by a red carbon
fiber faceplate with twin dials that flank a central digital
screen. The center stack is topped by a touch screen followed by
wide panels of controls for the A/C and AM/FM/CD radio which also
has Bluetooth, XM capability, HD radio, and U-Connect 4C
navigation. The screen also displays the outside cameras. Beefy
shifters for the gears and range selection live in the center
console, appropriately massive for this rugged rig. Black carpet
below is contrasted by the white plastic of the removable hatches
above and everything we described here is in excellent
condition.
Drivetrain
No side latches here, the hood opens traditionally and reveals the
clean engine bay housing a 3.6 liter VVT V6 topped by a Magnusen
supercharger and mated to an 850RE 8-speed automatic transmission.
3.45 gears are in both differentials and the rear unit is a Dana
anti-spin unit. Power disc brakes are on all four wheels.
Undercarriage
Some surface rust exists on this otherwise clean underside. The 4
link with coil springs suspension is augmented with the following
mods: a JSPEC lift, JKS suspension system, Fox 2.0 steering
stabilizer, a control arm correction bracket, and Fox 2.0 shocks. A
single exhaust flows through its original equipment muffler before
exiting twin tips out back.
Drive-Ability
We climb up the Westin HDX step bar and into this mountain high
cabin, feeling safe and secure is the vast real estate that is the
interior. We roll the 22's out to the test loop where the rig
tracks straight, provides impressive acceleration, and is coupled
with the ability to stop on a dime. The windows are tinted, but
there are a lot of them so visibility is never a problem and is
helped by cameras. All functions operate as they should on this
pampered pack horse, although there is a check engine light on for
a cam position sensor, bank 1 position B (P0365). While Classic
Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time
of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be
working at the time of your purchase.
It's a Jeep thing that is a real thing and shows no signs of
slowing down, especially as overlanding is still trending post
Covid. This may be a capable and rugged vehicle, but it will also
be right at home at your local car and truck show. The wide eyed
Jeep now has angry eyes, but don't let that stop you from
approaching it to see the beautifully appointed interior! If you're
ready to start collecting rubber ducks for your dashboard, check
this amazing ride out and call with your interest!
