This 1983 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade is an all steel Jeep that spent its
life in Idaho. The previous owner owned this Jeep for the last 15 +
years and basically did a frame-on restoration while he was using
the Jeep. The body on this Jeep is clean and straight. Around 3
years ago it was stripped down and professionally repainted
Metallic Green. The paint looks excellent! He then had the Renegade
Graphic professionally painted on instead of using the decals and
they look amazing. It has an aftermarket front bumper with a 12,000
pound Warn Winch and fog lights. It has a Warn rear bumper with
integrated rear tire carrier. It has a hard top and hard doors. It
has upgraded LED headlights and taillights. The underside of this
CJ is super clean and we found no rust issues with this Jeep.
The interior is also really nice. It has really nice custom
highjack bucket seats with a matching rear seat and matching door
panels. It has a locking center console with a built in stereo and
it also has a locking glove box. It also has a factory roll bar.
The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are all
working. The gauges all work. The windshield wipers, heat, and horn
are also all working.
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent and it runs and drives great!
It went through a mechanical restoration around 25,000 miles ago
(at 168,000 miles). The engine is the 4.2L 258 inline 6 that runs
great with no issues or red flags that we found. It was totally
rebuilt with a mild cam, polished valve covers and manifold, Holley
Carb, HEI ignition, new water pump, new radiator, new starter, new
alternator, new fuel pump, tune-up, etc. It has a t5 5 Speed Manual
transmission that shifts nice with a strong clutch which was also
replaced when the engine was rebuilt. It is mated to the Dana 300
transfer case and the 4WD works like it should. It has an AMC 20
rear axle rebuilt with 4.11 gears, a Detroit Locker, and 1 piece
Chromemoly axles. The front axle is a Dana 30 rebuilt with 4.11
gears and a Detroit TrueTrac. The suspension was all redone and it
was done right. It is a 4 Inch all spring lift with HD shackles.
The fronts a shackle reversal by M.O.R.E. Offroad. It has Bilstein
shocks and HD steering with a Fox Stabilizer. This is all sitting
on Moto Metal Wheels with GoodYear Duratrac tires size 275/70/18.
This is a cool Jeep and a great build!!
