Check out this extremely rare “Lowlight” VW Karmann Ghia coupe. Built from 1955 to 1959, Lowlight models feature lower set headlights, smaller grills and smaller taillights. This original Arizona car is finished in Aero silver. Exterior details include bullet style turn indicators, polished side trim and front and rear chrome bumpers with over riders. The steel wheels have chrome VW stamped hubcaps with 165/80-15 tires. Drum brakes are at all 4 corners. The restored interior is finished in blue / grey vinyl and cloth with new grey carpets. Front seats are thin buckets; the rear seat can fold flat. Correct 90 mph speedometer, analog clock and switch gear complete the dash, as well as a vintage Blaupunkt radio. The 5 digit odometer shows just over 18K miles. This Ghia is powered by a period correct Okrasa performance engine with a 4 speed manual transmission. The Okrasa company specialized in developing higher horsepower motors for VWs back in the 50’s. The motor features high compression heads, dual Solex carburetors and ram air filters. The exhaust exists through a quad tip muffler. Don’t miss this opportunity to add a very rare early VW Kharmann Ghia to your collection. These early Lowlight examples rarely become available for sale. Numerous new spare parts are included with the purchase.
