Documentation and Window Sticker |
This 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible was initially delivered
to Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was subsequently
modified with a dealer-installed Berger SS Package. This example is
#65 of a reported 100 examples modified with a cat-back exhaust
system, a carbon fiber high-flow air box, 17 FIKSE wheels, revised
springs, red brake calipers, dimpled brake rotors, white-dialed
gauges, and unique exterior styling accents. Power is provided by a
5.7-liter LS1 V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and is
finished in Bright Rally Red with white stripes over Ebony leather
upholstery. Additional equipment includes a white convertible soft
top, a Hurst short-throw shifter, cruise control, air conditioning,
keyless entry, and a Monsoon audio system with an AM/FM/CD stereo.
The car spent time in Connecticut before the selling dealers
acquisition in 2025. This Berger SS has 4,500 miles and is now
offered with window stickers from Chevrolet and Berger Supercar, a
binder of documentation!
The car is finished in Bright Rally Red (81) and is equipped with a
white convertible soft top, and fog lights. As part of the Berger
SS package, the original selling dealer added white racing stripes,
a black rear tail light panel, polished dual exhaust outlets, and
Berger Chevrolet badging.
Silver 17 FIKSE wheels are mounted with 275/40 BFGoodrich G-Force
T/A tires. Berger-specified springs were fitted when new.
Additional SS equipment included a performance suspension with a
larger front stabilizer bar, revised shock valving, and stiffer
bushings than the standard Camaro, and the car is equipped with
Acceleration Slip Regulation. Stopping power is provided by
four-wheel anti-lock ventilated disc brakes.
The cabin features seats upholstered in ebony leather, and interior
equipment includes a Hurst short-throw shifter, power-adjustable
drivers seat, a CD stereo, a Monsoon sound system, air
conditioning, power accessories, and SS-branded floormats. A Berger
SS plaque is affixed to the center stack.
The 5.7-liter V8 is equipped with a cat-back exhaust system and a
carbon fiber high-flow air box lid. These modifications were part
of the Berger SS package, and are said to have helped the car
achieve 380 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torqe. Power is sent to the
rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a Torsen
limited-slip differential.
