1936 Cord 810 Westchester 4-door Sedan
This all-original car remained in one family since 1962, received a full frame-off restoration and is located in north Houston, Texas. In 2024 this automobile received a full transmission rebuild and engine rehabilitation by the Auburn Cord Duesenberg (ACD) Company located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
The thorough 60-year restoration involved every component of the car as it remained in covered garage its entire life with the odometer indicating 56,128 original miles. This car was restored to its original configuration with extreme attention to detail implementing all CORD Factory Service Bulletins. The restoration maintained the original cadet gray paint color and dark blue wool interior. Many people consider this particular model to be the most beautiful version with its sleek lines, louvered hood, and tear-drop shaped fenders sporting "disappearing headlamps".
The car is mechanically excellent with a fully rebuilt transmission and Lycoming V-8 engine that starts easily, runs and shifts smoothly. The car generates 125 HP making it fully capable of freeway speeds as the front-wheel-drive and vacuum-electric shifting system operate perfectly through all 4 speeds and reverse. It is truly a pleasure to drive with the pre-select gear selection that allows you to punch the clutch into the next gear with both hands on the wheel. This numbers matching 1936 Cord 810 Westchester sedan carries Serial #1123A, Engine #FB323, and Body #C90 196 as the 23rd production model after the first 100 "hand-built" show cars were assembled.
